The KJCA actively encourages participation in community activities and projects designed to preserve the unique legacy of the many contributions of persons of Japanese ancestry to the Kona community. Read about some of our significant ongoing and past projects here.
The Association is currently working to increase its membership to strengthen its base and continues to fulfill its objectives to the community.
The Kona Japanese Civic Association, with the help of the Japanese American National Museum and the Kona Club, created the traveling exhibit, "The Kona Coffee Story: Along The Hawaii Belt Road" which won the "Certification of Commendation" from the American Association for State and Local History
Other Past Projects
KJCA was responsible for erecting a plaque at the Holualoa Imin Center, sponsors the Pioneers' Float in the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival Grand Parade and has published Old Time Kona Stories and More Old Time Kona Stories.
